ACCA Transition Tool: How to Check Your Position Before the 2027 Changes

ACCA’s qualification is changing in 2027, and the question every current student is asking is the same: what happens to the papers I have already passed? ACCA built a free Transition Tool to answer it. This guide explains what the tool does, how to read your result, and what to finish before the June 2027 deadline.

What the ACCA Transition Tool Does

The Transition Tool shows how your current progress (exams passed, exemptions and modules) will turn into credit in the new qualification. ACCA’s FAQ says students part-way through receive credit for their progress and do not retake equivalent elements. The tool shows you which ones, for your own record.

  1. Find it: go to accaglobal.com and open the “Future ACCA Qualification” section, then “Use the transition tool”.
  2. Enter your progress: the papers you have passed or are exempt from, and the ones you expect to pass before June 2027.
  3. Read the result: it shows which new exams and modules you will already have credit for, and what you will still need.
  4. Re-check after every result. If you pass or fail a paper, your expected position changes.

The tool is for planning. Your official record is what ACCA holds in myACCA.

The Three Things to Finish Before June 2027

1. All your Applied Skills papers, including LW. Students who complete every current Applied Skills exam, including LW, before transition are not expected to need the new Digital Tech and Innovation module. If Applied Skills is still incomplete at transition, that module may become part of your future requirements. ACCA’s FAQ also says students with conditional exemptions who want this credit must provide proof of prior learning by 30 June 2027.

2. The Ethics and Professional Skills Module (EPSM). Completing EPSM before transition gives you credit for the new Ethical, Sustainable Leadership module. Read our ACCA EPSM Guide.

3. Any paper you are halfway through. If you have studied most of a current paper, sitting it in March or June 2027 is usually better than re-learning a new syllabus later.

Should You Rush or Wait?

ACCA’s advice is to keep studying without unnecessary delay, because passes carry over. Waiting for the new qualification gains you nothing, and only three sessions remain in the current format: December 2026, March 2027 and June 2027. The December standard entry deadline is 2 November 2026.

From September 2027, ACCA says students will need only one Options exam at Strategic Professional level instead of two, so finishing your Applied Skills now does not lose you that benefit.
