CA September 2026 Result: Date, How to Check, and a Plan B That Does Not Waste the Year
ICAI will declare the CA Intermediate September 2026 result on 22 October 2026, in the evening, on caresults.icai.org. The CA Foundation September 2026 result date has not been announced yet (as of 22 October 2026). It is expected soon, and we will update this post when ICAI confirms it.
This guide covers the three things you need on result day: how to check your result, how to read your marks, and what to do in the first week if the result is not what you hoped for.

How to Check Your CA Result
- Go to caresults.icai.org (ICAI also links the result from icai.org and icai.nic.in).
- Choose your exam: CA Intermediate or CA Foundation (September 2026).
- Enter your roll number and registration number (or PIN, if the page asks for it) and the security code.
- Download and save your scorecard. You will need the paper-wise marks to plan your next step.
Tip: the result site slows down in the first hour because lakhs of students log in together. Keep your roll number ready, and if the page does not load, wait a few minutes instead of refreshing again and again.
Pass Marks: How to Read Your Result
For both CA Foundation and CA Intermediate, you pass when you score at least 40% in each paper and at least 50% in aggregate. For CA Intermediate, this is checked group by group, so you can clear Group I, Group II or both.
Look at your paper-wise marks, not just the word “pass” or “fail”. One weak paper and one weak skill need a very different plan from four weak papers.

In each recent session, about 9 out of 10 students who sat both groups did not clear both. If that is you, you are in the majority, and it says more about how tough the exam is than about your ability.
If You Do Not Clear: Your First Week
- Day 1: do nothing big. Download the scorecard, tell your family, and sleep on it.
- Day 2–3: read the marks. Did you miss by a few marks in one paper, or are several papers far below 40?
- Day 3–5: think about verification. If one paper is just below the pass mark and you are confident about your answers, ICAI lets you apply for verification of marks and certified copies of answer books online, within the deadline in its result notice. Check the exact window and fee on icai.org.
- By 16 November 2026: decide on January. That is the last date for the January 2027 exam form without late fee.
- In parallel: look at Plan B. Knowing your options takes the panic out of the decision.

ACCA is redesigning its qualification from 2027. According to ACCA, passes and exemptions you earn now carry over as credit, so there is no reason to wait. But the current Applied Skills papers have their last sittings in March and June 2027, and some transition credits depend on what you complete before then.
