ACCA Mock Test Series 2026: What a Good One Contains, and How to Use It

A good ACCA mock test series contains four things: chapter-wise exam-style questions for use during the syllabus, three full mocks set to the real exam pattern, evaluation of every written answer by a qualified tutor, and a debrief against the examiner’s report for your paper. The four components of a serious series
1. Chapter-wise exam-style questions
These are used during the syllabus, not after it. The single most common study mistake is reading three chapters and then starting to practise. Question practice should follow each topic immediately, while the gap between recognising something and being able to produce it is still visible.
Exam-style matters. A recall question asking you to define an onerous contract is not the same instrument as a scenario asking whether one exists in these facts.
2. Three full mocks on the real exam pattern
Full length, correct mark allocation, and correct section structure. A mock that gives you three written questions and skips the objective tests is not testing the paper you are sitting, because breadth and pacing across the whole three hours is exactly what fails candidates.
3. Evaluation of every answer by a qualified tutor
This is the component that distinguishes a mock series from a question bank. An auto-scored mock tells you that you got 44. It cannot tell you that eleven of your points stopped one clause short of the explanation, which is a different problem from not knowing the material and needs a different fix.
A score tells you where you are. Only feedback tells you what to do on Monday.
4. A session on the examiner’s report
ACCA publishes a report after every sitting, for every paper, in which the marking team explains what candidates lost marks on. Almost nobody reads them, and fewer still know how to convert them into a checklist. A good series walks you through the last two reports for your paper and turns them into things you will actually do differently.
How to schedule three mocks properly

The most expensive mistake with a mock series is buying it and then attempting all three mocks in the final week. At that point you have paid for three diagnoses and left yourself no time to treat any of them.
How to debrief a mock so it changes something
Go through the paper question by question and label every mark you dropped as one of three things:
- A knowledge gap — you did not know it. Fix by studying the topic.
- A careless error — you knew it and got it wrong. Fix by building a personal checklist, not by re-reading the chapter.
- A timing failure — you never reached it, or you rushed it. Fix by rehearsing the clock, not by studying anything.
Students who do not separate these tend to respond to all three by re-reading the study text, which fixes only the first and is the least common of the three among candidates in the forties.
Five questions to ask before you buy any mock series
- Who marks the written answers, and what are their qualifications? “Evaluated” can mean a tutor with a mark scheme, or it can mean a script auto-compared to a model answer.
- How long does evaluation take to come back? Feedback that arrives in three weeks arrives after the moment it was useful.
- Are the mocks written to the current syllabus and exam format? Check specifically for papers where the format or standards have changed recently.
- Can I see a sample marked script? A provider confident in its marking will show you one without hesitation.
- Can I buy the series without buying a full course? If the answer is no, you are being sold a course.
Who a mock series is genuinely for
- Students who have covered the syllabus, from any source, and need to know whether their answers actually score.
- Self-studying candidates with no one marking their written work.
- Students enrolled elsewhere whose course does not include evaluated mocks — which is common in the lower price bands.
- Resitting candidates scoring in the forties, where the gap is almost always technique rather than knowledge.
It is not for students who have not finished the syllabus. A mock taken before you have covered everything measures what you have not read yet, which you already know.
