What is ACCA?

ACCA stands for Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

It is UK based Accountancy course which grants to the tag of Chartered Certified Accountant.

Opportunities and Recognitions:

Requirement:

ACCA requires a student to be 10+2 pass out with a minimum of 65% in Mathematics/ Accounts and English and a minimum of 50% in other subjects.

Exam Structure:

ACCA can be brokedn down into three level with 13 papers.

1) Knowledge level: Covers 3 papers and is an on-demand computer-based examination

2) Applied Skill level: Has 6 papers, which are a mix of subjective and objective questions. Exams are quarterly and computer based

3) Applied Professional level: Contains 2 compulsory paper and 2 optional (out of 4). Computer based exams, held quarterly and are completely subjective.

Passing Criteria:

ACCA provides maximum flexibility to pass, a minumum of 50% is required to pass each paper. Exam can be given paper wise which offers a very high flexibility to students.

Overall the pass percentage of ACCA is 50-60% i.e every 5-6 students pass ACCA exam out of 10 students who appear.

Duration:

ACCA Qualification can be completed in average 2 years. However since ACCA can be studied at your own pace the duration can vary.

Practical Training:

There is a mandatory 36months of practical training in financial field to be completed for being an ACCA Member. Lot of flexibility is offered here too, the experience can be gained in any domain like accountacny, auditing, taxation, fiancial management, finacial advisory etc.

Exemption:

A cheery on the cake is that you need not write all 13 papers, some papers might be exempted based on your previous qualification.

Cost:

ACCA cost around INR 3-4 Lakhs, which included registration fee, study material, exam fee, annual membership fee and coaching fee. However do keep in mind the currency exchange as all fee is paid in pounds.
